Step back 5,000 years on this comprehensive day tour covering three of Egypt's most important ancient sites outside Cairo. Begin at the necropolis of Saqqara, home to Djoser's iconic Step Pyramid — the world's first large-scale stone structure. Continue to the open-air museum of Memphis, ancient capital of Lower Egypt, before finishing at the red-sand site of Dahshur where the Bent Pyramid and the perfectly preserved Red Pyramid stand in magnificent isolation.

Tour Plan
Hotel Pick-Up & Drive to Saqqara
Your guide and driver collect you from your Cairo hotel at 08:00. The drive to Saqqara (approximately 30 km south of Cairo) takes around 45 minutes through the agricultural Nile Delta landscape.
Saqqara Necropolis
Explore the vast Saqqara plateau, including the Step Pyramid of Djoser (c. 2650 BC), the Pyramid of Unas with its interior Pyramid Texts, the beautifully decorated tombs of the nobles such as Mereruka and Kagemni, and the Serapeum.
Memphis Open-Air Museum
Visit the ancient capital of Egypt, now an atmospheric open-air museum, to see the colossal alabaster Sphinx and the enormous fallen limestone statue of Ramses II.
Dahshur Pyramid Field
Drive to the rarely crowded Dahshur pyramid field. Climb inside the Red Pyramid — one of Egypt's most accessible pyramid interiors — and admire the curious angular shape of the Bent Pyramid, which illustrates the evolution of Egyptian pyramid building in real time.
Return to Cairo
Return journey to your Cairo hotel in the late afternoon.
